Harvey Jett interview at Branchville Correctional Facility

Interview with Harvey Jett inside Branchville Correctional before a concert. We had just at 300 men at the concert. There were two gangs in attendance! We were told afterwards that they were being watched closely for disruptions. We were told that both gangs gave their undivided attention to Harvey. All of the 300 men were connected with Harvey's AWESOME guitar playing, his life story of his days in main stream Rock 'n Roll and testimony of how God changed his life. He talked about why he walked away from $20,000 per night performances with Black Oak Arkansas --and how God has given him a new mission. Harvey and the band, 53/Five, started off with "Jim Dandy to the Rescue", followed by some of Harvey's songs and then FREEBIRD!!! They ROCKED it out at BRANCHVILLE!

The most important part of the evening was when 100 + men stood for salvation!!! What an AWESOME sight to see at least, if not more, 1/3 of the men confess Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. Every single man there, including gang members, went by to shake Harvey's hand. You could see the sincerity in their faces as they thanked him for coming in to visit them. AMEN!!

We would like to continue sponsoring and hosting Harvey along with others such as Tammy Van Zant in other prisons for the future. Please keep us in prayer for those events in the future. Also, there is an expense to setting this all up. We had the band 53/Five performing with Harvey. We had 10 Talent Productions running sound and renting of a U-Haul to put all of the equipment in. I played bass for Harvey in the early 80's at some churches & a correctional facility in MO. I can vouch for his sincerity. A really nice guy that was fun to play music with.
