To all Mark "The Hansolor" Adams fans March 5th marks the one year anniversary
of his passing. May he rest in peace. There will never be another like him in my
opinion and to his family & immediate friends we have lost a talented funk bassist
or just a top 10 bassist period and he will be truly missed.
SLAVE a true force of funk.

Mark Adams died of a brain aneurysm.

@djnickbdotcom Whenever I'd sign in the past on YOUTUBE trying to find out bout Slave....there was never any news. Now that Mark Adams is no longer among us, all sort of messages emerge. Such bullshit.
-
Mark L. Adams....the Hansolor. He was the baddest, the funkiest dude on bass. No bass ever sounded funkier than his.
-
I remember seeing Slave at Kent State Univ back in 1983 had to see Mark spank that bass First time I saw him was in 1979 at the Masonic in Cleveland, OH I will miss him dearly I bought a Peavey T-40 bass to be funky like him cant touch it.

Its about time somebody realized/s who funk is. Remember that? I do.
That was one of SLAVES motto's back in the 80's. Been a true fan of the funk &
SLAVE for 32 years. Got used to the Hansolor and never turned back.
Never forget that true roaring funk bass sound. SLAVE true Masters Of The
Funk. R.I.P Hansolor & Drac.

OMG! I'm just finding out that both of these cats are gone, damn man, these are my fellow Ohio homies out of the "Gem City", Dayton, my heart is broken. They were born to do what they did, it was in their DNA to do it, they truly loved to make R&B & funk music, they were some cool cats man, an I'm glad to see that they were both still cool with each other after all these years, so many guys in bands seperate over money, glad to see they never did. R.I.P. to both of them, music will miss them...

RIP HANSOLAR AND DRAC !!!

That's so sad to learn that Mark Adams was murdered. That's terrible! What a tremendous talent he was! Such an untimely loss of a great bassist and funk legend! He will be sorely missed!
-
Damn! I just found out TODAY. I hadn't seen Mark in about 4 years. I saw his sister Patti today and asked how he was doing....and she told me he was dead. Murdered in March of this year, in Columbus, Ohio.
Heartbreaking! Watching Mark play Bass close up is what inspired me to learn. He had so much fun when he played. And it seemed efortless for him.
Sometimes he would play my Bass and then hand it back to me. I couldn't believe it was the same damn guitar!!! R.I.P my friend! (Nick Busbee)
From now on, whenever it's an earthquake or, you hear thunder, don't be afraid, just remember that, Mark Adams is in heaven, playin' that earthquakin', ground shakin', thunderous bass.
May God rest the soul, of brotha Mark Adams.

I've been a huge fan of Slave and always wondered...what happened and why they split?,in the last few L.P.'s of slave it ended up being Mark Adams,Floyd Miller, and Danny Webster.I would love to hear an interview from those three members about Slave... the beginning,Steve Washington's(the fearless leader)departure, and Steve Arrington's departure that would make a great VH1 behind the music story for real....
