Earth and Beyond Emulator video

Just a short little video I wanted to upload containing me poking around in the EnB Emulator. To show off a little bit of it's current progress. Though I know an Explorer trying to find a good spot to go mining is not terribly exciting I am willing to take requests if you want to see something else about the EnB Emu. Quests, Combat, Crafting, etc. Note though my Lv 87 Terran Scout is my highest level. =/ So some things I will have to rely on others for to show you guys.

A few things for those who do not know. Earth and Beyond is a Sci Fi MMORPG originally created by Westwood Studios and launched in 2002. They eventually were bought out by EA Games who then nearly instantly decided that it wasn't worth it to them to keep it, and so the game was shut down almost exactly 2 years later to the day in 2004. The game had great potential, the storyline of the world you were in was evolving and changing around you.

A group of fans from the moment they heard the game was closing did alot to document the game and tried their best to analyze how the client talked to the server and what you see is the grandchild of their work. I do not think the same people trying to keep EnB alive back in 2004 are the same people working on this particular project, but the spirit is the same.

We are currently in Stress Test 4, pre Alpha stage. Combat works, I'd say 90% of the abilities work, alot of the quests work, alot of the equipment works. And they have even resurrected 3 classes that were supposed to be in the game but never made it while the original game was alive. Terran Scout, Progen Privateer, and Jenquai Seeker.

Ok, so, can you fight on land? Or are there just space stations?

@148word Like the original game you can only actually fight in space. Your character has their own ship and you can dock at space stations and run around in them. While you can trade with other players in space alot of the game's economy happens on stations since that is where the refining and manufacturing terminals are. Also there is no mail system or auction house system, like the original games, so the builders tend to congregate in a couple areas. Specifically the station F7.

which is better. TS or JE? I currently have a level 20 TE, but I had no idea we could play the 3 classes that were never released. So I made a TS last night, but havent had a chance to play it.

@blindsyde It is really up to one's personal preference. I loved the mining back in live, fond memories from my JE. But my true love was my TT. The TS feels like a mix of the two. No teleporting or cloak, but I do have negotiate, larger hull, and missiles! There are things of a higher CL I can fight (provided I have enough ammo) that a similar CL JE might not be able to. I love missiles so much. :D

One of the problems is TS has a base sig of 2.5, JE has 0.0. Need a sig -% item on TS,

@SimonSurfss It is operational! enb-emulator (dot) com Remember though it's still pre Beta, not everything is perfect and not everything is operational. But it's operational enough people are getting to max level and running end game raids.

FUCKING EXCITED!!! E&B was amazing, and it died way too early :(

Seriously Ive spent the last 2 days looking online for a MMORPG that can compare to E&B. Eve doesn't cut it.

I hope we can get a good E&B community once the game is fully operational again.
