Just trying out the Mega minor. Not a bad torch for first time torch buyers, however an upgrade would soon follow. Probably within a year maybe less. All in all a very reliable torch for small work.

  • Do you have any sort of light filtering lens over the camera. I ask because i think you must have something, for the color of your work bench changed and I notice the lack of a yellow plume surrounding your work. tell me please are my suspicions correct? and if what i am seeing is true to the eye, then that flame is cleaner than my old welders torch, got the whole shebang from a pawn shop for 60$; 100', 2 regs, handle, torch & FB arrestors, and i make it work. my beads are jawdroppers:-)

Yes I have a Didymium filter on the camera lens so it can filter the yellow sodium flare. The mega minor is a nice clean burning torch.

  • hows it going crazy4glass?

i have some questions about setting up my mega minor that i thought you could help me with since you also have one. the main question that i have for you is, what all do i need to hook up the propane from my bbq take to my torch. types of gages regulators and such. its basically the only thing holding me back at this point in time.

    thanks a million crazy,

    have a good one.

  • I just ran across your vid. I'v been useing the Nortel Miner. Does the Mega Miner make more noise than the Miner ? I think you must be useing Boro glass. I just started with glass so right now I'm still useing soft glass. I can tell you it's not as easy as it looks. Lol !

  • I ran both my minors side by side and didn't hear no real difference.Yes I'm using boro from corning.

Have fun with your glass art.
