In game 4 of '98 Finals, MJ gave Russell a preview of what would be the final shot of his career as a Bull. In this move Russell fell (I don't think bumping into Scott Burrell was the cause of it), the same way he fell when MJ hit the game wining shot two games later. I'm convinced that the slight tap on Russell's leg on the last shot wasn't enough to push Russell off balance. Russell just went for the move and Jordan crossed him over which caused him to stumble. MJ did it in game 4, Russell fell for it again in game 6.

  • Thanks for putting the clip up, but this was NOT the same as MJ's final shot in 1998. Here, Russell knocks into the screener and falls because of the contact. In '98 he fell because MJ got him off-balance. Jordan DID, however, nearly make Russell fall in another game in that series (I forget which game) with a stepback move, and nearly made Shandon Anderson -- a much better defender than Russell -- fall with a corssover near the top of the key in another game in the series.

  • I don't think bumping into Scott Burrell caused Russell to fall because if you see his defensive footwork, his momentum was pulling him toward his left and when MJ crossed the ball over, there was no way he could've recovered. Even if Burell wasn't there on the play, Russel wouldn't be able to recover. What I'm trying to point out from this clip is that on the 'last shot' MJ's slight tap on Russell wouldn't make any difference because Russell had the tendency to overplay the dribble drive.

  • Watch for the push off.. classic Jordan got away with it every single time.,

  • I watched him do that shot throughout the series. It was only a matter of hoping he missed.

  • wow. thanks. almost identical. Russell fallin', MJ drainin' only in the white home uniform this time. Now Russell will finally know the meaning of "Deja Vu".
