Remix the Misery for Marrow
San Francisco Band Announces Remix Contest for Fans

San Francisco, Calif. — January 10, 2009 —San Francisco band Marrow kicked off a contest inviting fans to make their own versions of the bands alternative-industrial rock tracks off their Quiet Desperation album, released September 16, 2008. We want people to go ahead and let themselves enjoy their own misery. Making our favorite tracks even darker is a tough challenge, but given our fans, I know some of them are up for it, says Jeremy Fortes, one of Marrows lead vocalists and songwriters.

An announcement to create the most miserable remix was made on the sflogicninja youtube channel, and within hours, hundreds of music producers registered and downloaded the remix stems. The video can be seen here:

The creators of the 3 best tracks win a Marrow misery kit—a Logitech diNovo Mini, a Microsoft Zune and other miserable prizes. The tracks will also get a spot on Marrows upcoming remix CD and production credit in the liner notes.

Fans can find the multi-tracks for the songs, upload their offerings and vote for their favorites on the remix section of Marrows website: www.blissisignorance.com.

The album, Quiet Desperation, is available through iTunes and Rhapsody, as well as on the Marrow website and in select record stores nationwide.

Due to the high volume of people signing up, we're gonna decide on a deadline in the next week or so. You'll be given plenty of time. I'll submit a followup video that gives the cutoff date. There are many folks submitting, so I want everyone to get a fair shake at it.

we have to review every remix before we can publish it in our jukebox. So it may take a few minutes for us to get it up there. But it will get up there. We love what we're hearing so keep it up, everyone.

A note to all remixers:

Our jukebox hates illegal characters. So don't use any illegal characters in your file names ( i.e &,%,$,@,!,*,?^,#)

We have to rename files when you do this, so it slows the process down a bit.
