My mom said I was ignoring the fact that Dracula is a murderer, so for her sake, I made a music video that features him as one.

  • Great video. It was good point that the other videos didn't made him to look like a murderer. What's the name of the song? And what band/singer sings it?

  • Evanescence. And I think it's just called "Must Be Dreaming." (It's been awhile since I made this.)

  • @Ivyandstone Well, they have lines that give him a motivation beyond "Hey, humans are food" in the 79 version. His people are dying (I am the last of my kind, I think he says, among other things). He's specifically in England for brides so he won't be the last of his kind-- and Lucy he intends to make his queen. It makes Dracula more relate-able to have his motivation be the survival of his 'species'-- his murders become acts of desperation and survival as well as evil.

  • Yes, he was a murderer, but Frank Langella's Dracula was a smokin' hot murderer. And I think sometimes he regretted what he had to do to survive -- didn't Lucy refer to him as the saddest, the kindest of all?

Sure, maybe she was under his spell at the time, but at the end she'd been released from it, & she was still smiling as she watched him make his getaway.

  • Lawrence Olivier was Dr van Helsing, Dutch accent and all, in this film that starred Frank Langella as the vampire.

  • Well done! I have to stay away from Langella's DRACULA. In 1979, I bought tickets to ALL shows until it left the cinemas. Needless to say, you put all the greatness the film was into these frames! ~ Janet

  • Dracula & Evanescence.....could this be more perfect??

  • I must comment--at 0.18 there is such a great shot of Dracula with his cape spread out on the stairs like a bat. It appears that they suspended Frank Langella on the stairs for a few seconds, swooping down on Renfield before he actually undergoes metaphorphysis into a bat and bites Renfield for saying "I'm not a bloody machine". This is great entertainment but you have to watch it very fast. Did you film this in slow motion to get that shot?

  • It's true that Dracula is a monster and should not be forgotten, so good work of managing to make this video of Frank Langella's gothic hero approach to the role.

  • Thank you!
