  • Nothing makes you feel as patriotic and proud of your country than a song about a Hobo who names his bag Matilda...

  • This is Rolf Harris isn't it?

  • When I first heard the song, I thought it was about having sex with sheep. "His Billy boiled" - he had an erection. "Jolly", as in "jolly roger"... "Put a jumback in his tucker bag" - it's as if he put his penis in a bag. I think the song made more sense before I verified the actual meanings of Australian words used in the song xP But seriously, nice song :)

  • Im 12 years old. And im proud to live in australia with my grandma!

  • I live in Australia for four an a half months in 1991/2, I di not hear waltzing matilda one during all the time that i was there. Nor did i hear the offiial National Anthem.

  • I wished this was Australia's National Anthem *it would sound groovy ^^*

  • @kobikiya 1 yrs agoI left this comment to this song and I wonder why this song made such strong impression at that time. Still really incredible matter what happend to Nuc-plant in Fukushima Japan 2011/3/11.

  • @oC00nz With determination. If you're hungry enough, you'll get it in!

  • 1:10 iswhen the song starts if you dont want to listen to the defintions

  • Believe it or not this song was taught to me in Elementary school in the 60's....in south Central Los Angeles. I never forgot it. My siblings and I would go home and teach each other great international folk songs taught to us by some wonderful teachers who I remember fondly and still miss some 40+ years later.

  • how do you fit a jumbuck in your tuckerbag?
