@notsoseriousanymore I think to make english people grasp the colloquial connotations in humor you'd have to perform a cultural paradigm shift, which can't be done! These kind of translation videos are made by people who don't understand that language is far more than just the actual words. Puns and word plays such as "nossefeen" are good examples of this problem. The mere direct translation doesn't do anything for the context.

Translating colloquial standup into english is rather like trying to translate the lyrics for an unknown song in order to teach people the melody itself ... it cannot be done!

This isnt great comedy. For me its ok cause I understand danish, but for ppl just reading the subtitles it must be worthless.

I found it absolutely hilarious, and I don't speak a word of Dansk

Frank Hvam isnt a good representative of danish comedy, he can be funny at times but he only has his status because of his television career.

Without considering audio issues and the problem of unidiomatic subtitles, this clip still sucks relatively hard.
If you must translate something Danish, translate something which is actually funny and has relevance to people outside of Jutland.
