This song is sad because it reflects how far we've come only to hurt so many. I think the worst part is that Matthew Good just seems so tired of it all, as though he wants to make it go away but it won't. And as much as I wish the problem would go away, I just wish he felt better about it, and I think the worst part is that he doesn't.

I think it's a good thing that he doesn't feel better about it. It means that the situation hasn't broken him yet--he's still fighting it--and as long as people feel that way, there's the possibility of change.
