I miss those days so much as well...and remembering that...in those days all was not harmony...the world was in its own 60's chaos...Vietnam...race riots..women's right's movement...etc.....it was an incredible time for music & politics & humanity...too bad the industrialists & politicians don't see it this way. cheers all

This song takes a completely different context if you consider John was singing to himself - meaning the song was for himself. Does this make him incredibly narcissistic, or just following the current vibe at the time of the songs composition? Guess we'll never know, but what is love if every other emotion, feeling and aspect of the human soul is not there?
