Personally, I would of loved to have seen this version of BSG.
The modern version, (though good in some parts), just didn't do it for me.
I especially HATED that the BSG narrative, "There are those who believe..." was left out entirely.
Those very words, are what set the tone to the "Classic" BSG.
It is these words, that draw in the audience, who want to know more about the characters & their adventures.

There was another Battlestar Galactica show that was cancelled? Why did they make the 1980 version instead of this one?

The voices were human voices. In the shadows are humans sitting around a table who have been taken over by the Cylons. At the head of the table is Apollo, played by Richard Hatch.
