Our Wedding at Sts Isidore and Leander Western Orthodox Church, NYC. The wedding was performed according to the Sarum rite with Mozarabic interpolations by Archbishop John of New York. The music in the background comes from "Chant Mozarabe", Marcel Peres.

  • @vladimir998 You are free to believe what you wish. In ignorance, of course, but still free to believe what you wish.

  • Ah, looking at your profile I understand. No, this was not "Sarum" (a post schism term), it is pre-Sarum, the English use around 1000 when England was Orthodox, commonly called "Sarum" with local variations. I didn't realize you were an Anglican. I apologize. This predates your Sarum somewhat.

  • The wedding was done according to the Sarum rite with minor local variations according to Hispanic use. Since I know the Sarum wedding ceremony well, I am pretty sure it was Sarum. After all, I was there. Is there something you are claiming in particular?

  • Is this a Canonical Orthodox jurisdiction? I don't know any canonical parish with the Hispanic Rite

  • Click the Church link above or find "Mozarabic baptism" on Youtube. Remember canonicity is based upon the canons, not whom you are in communion with in times of crisis in the Church. An Anglican "Mass" celebrated by "Orthodox" priests is not an "Orthodox liturgy".

  • @hillibillycat56 There is no legitimate rite called the Hispanic Rite. This is some made up nonsense.

  • @vladimir998 Believe what you wish. It's not for you, then.

  • May God bless you both and grant you joy and peace. The people who debate semantics are forgetting what it's all about. Our Lord came to bring us salvation and to teach us to love one another. I wish you and yours a Holy and Blessed Lent. +PAX

  • This is not theUse of Sarum.

  • Please feel free to join in on all the other "is this a canonical jurisdiction or canonical rite" discussions on the other threads. I have no interest in discussing this on my wedding page which was not done according to the Hispanic rite, but the Sarum, with certain local customs.

    See attached.
