Raw Video: Discovery and the ISS, orbiting about one minute apart. Discovery in the front. Something I've never seen before, some kind of cloud, what might be exhaust gases from an OMS burn, Very pecuiar and interesting, I've never gotten video of the shuttle with the NiteMax camera before, so I don't know if this is normal or not, hopefully it is. I ruled out a lens or camera problem. because the ISS just appears as a point of light as it should, but back to the shuttle, and there is the trail. Wondering if anyone else saw this.. leave a comment please if you have any ideas about this. (I bumped the focus toward the end, sorry)
UPDATE: The trail was caused by a waste water dump made by the shuttle after separation from the ISS. Click the link for full story : http://news.yahoo.com/s/space/20090911/sc_space/mysteryexplainedglowinnightsk...

A comet would have a much bigger coma and a meteor ist much faster. With a telescope you could see that the little point is a space shuttle.

  • I hope the ISS has windshield Wipers....seriously, I'm not buying the 'nasa' story. I think it was a comet or meteor. The "secret" rocket launched a few days ago may have had a bomb on board to deflect the object. They used an Atlas V rocket, which means they wanted to get something far from Earth's Gravitational pull. One more point: After all this time, why a vid of a comet looking toilet dump now? Doesn't add up.

  • Incoming Asteroids look like

  • its problably a waste dump.Since it has a directional velocity to the side of the shuttle. The curve is a little odd though. You would think that a beam of water and crap would go in a straight line in vacum:)
