Renault Clio dashboard test

Update: Theres a new HQ video of the dash test coming soon plus a cold start video as well.

This a dashboard test that I can do on my Clio to make sure that all of the lights & gauges on the dash are working correctly. The car is a 2003 Clio Mk2 Phase 2(face lifted version) Dynamique. I think the dash test can be performed on any Mk2 Clio & all you do is hold in the button on the end of the wiper stalk while turning the ignition on & if you start up while holding the button in, you can see how much juice is being used by the engine & if you press the mileage reset button while doing the test, the car will also alert you of any faults with the ECU.

DO YOU HAVE A 2003 RENAULT CLIO 1.1 16V DYNAMIQUE??, DOES THE SERVICE LIGHT AND AIRBAG LIGHT STAY ON...?...YES..This is how to turn it off

1) Open car - Leave keys out of ignition

2) Look under drivers seat, middle front for a grey connector with a yellow side clip

3) Pull the yellow clip sideways, then disconnect the Grey connector - count to 30

4) Plug back in, push yellow clip back in

5) Start car - Service light+ ABS light OFF!!!!

6) DONE - Have a Bud - Hope this helps,it worked for me

Would you recommend a Clio for a first car?

@Jamesss123456 Depends on which model & engine your looking at, if its a mk2 with a 75bhp 1.2 16 valve engine, it has no power in the low revs, so I would opt for the 96bhp 1.4 16 valve engine. If its a mk3 then go for any engine except the 1.2 because it's useless on a motorway. And when it comes to trim levels, the dynamique has some nice toys, but you can pick up a decent dynamique s which has better suspension for around £3500 to £4000

The 2004 dynamique does have the digital fuel and temp readouts. My wife's does anyway.

I agree though, rather have needles like my 172.

My moms one does that, the wipers are the wrong way around for the RHD car..!

Gives me, the passenger, a good view though ;)

I duuno about it packing up, I guess if someone is unlucky then they can have trouble with it but the Citroens have had a digital system for a couple of years which has proved trouble free. I look forward to seeing your videos of the wipers.
