Alibaba.com is the global leader in e-commerce for small businesses and the flagship company of Alibaba Group. Founded in 1999 in Hangzhou, China, Alibaba.com makes it easy for millions of buyers and suppliers around the world to do business online through three marketplaces: a global trade platform (www.alibaba.com) for importers and exporters; a Chinese platform (www.1688.com) for domestic trade in China; and, through an associated company, a Japanese platform (www.alibaba.co.jp) facilitating trade to and from Japan. In addition, Alibaba.com offers a wholesale platform on the global site (www.aliexpress.com) geared for smaller buyers seeking fast shipment of small quantities of goods. Together, these marketplaces form a community of more than 53 million registered users in more than 240 countries and regions. Alibaba.com also offers business management software and Internet infrastructure services targeting businesses across China, and provides educational services to incubate enterprise management and e-commerce professionals. Alibaba.com has offices in more than 60 cities across Greater China, India, Japan, Korea, Europe and the United States. Alibaba.com also owns Vendio Services, Inc. and Auctiva, leading providers of third-party e-commerce solutions for online merchants.

Make sure to call the business, check for a real building on google earth, check their URL out at whois net. it will tell you who and where they host. I got deep into figuring everything out, then I took a large corporation and left my dreams behind.

The guy who tried to scam me went all out. He answered 14 emails. The idiot should have delivered two laptops then took me for thousands. But he folded finally when I started asking more and more questions.

@capulazza Its like anything. You really have to do your homework. Use google earth to check if there is a real building at the address listed. you can use a website to check where they host their website. My "China" based company was hosted on godaddy.com and was only active for 9 months. There are all sorts of red flags. I'm sure there are good companies on alibaba, just be cautious. Try to use an escrow company that will hold the funds until the merchandise is delivered.

@capulazza I tried buying some Laptops off Alibaba.com. I spent 2 weeks writing a listing and getting all the specs. I talked for an hour with a seller on Alibaba. I put the listing on Ebay. I was set to triple my money. I all but hit transfer to send off a grand to my "trading partner". Thats when I said, this is to good to be true. It was going to be to easy. I then refined my searches and put scam and fraud next to the company name. I found nearly 35 people how had been ripped off.
