From the 1995 filmed production of Victor/Victoria, starring Dame Julie herself. Thankfully this was shot before she started having her vocal difficulties. Enjoy! Posted entertainment purposes only, in no way affiliated to Dame Julie Andrews. Any copyright infringement is not intended

  • To be honest... who cares if she lost a few notes.... she was 60 odd in this production... and she is still the most amazing woman on earth dispite losing her singing voice... she is still very talented. And i would jump at the chance to be in her presence! She is a goddess! And a Queen of the arts in her own right! ROCK ON JULIE ANDREWS! XXXX

  • Wau, not bad for a 60 year old ;D

  • @StreepMirren 65 year old o wo;;

  • She may have had a noticeable break in that 2-octave slide, but big deal, everyone has weird things in their voice. How sad that now, she has 2 octaves TOTAL (which, admittedly, isn't bad for 76, but come one, it's JULIE ANDREWS).

  • @StreepMirren true very true!

  • I was lucky enough to be in the audience to see this production on Broadway in New York back in 1996. Every time Dame Julie came on stage the audience broke into spontaneous applause :-) Her role was eventually taken over by Raquel Welsh :-/

  • She's 60 years old, with legs like THAT. God! I'm so envious!

    She's fabulous! A real legend. I'd give anything to merely have the honour of standing in her presence. She is wonderful.

  • JULIE IS A GODESS AND I ADORE HER. AND THIS NUMBER IS AMAZING AND IS A HUGE PLEASURE TO SEE IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. MANY THANKS FOR POSTING.

    AND GREETINGS FROM BRAZIL, AND SORRY FOR THE BAD ENGLISH I WRITE.

  • @opalasattic - It was that low belting, 8 times a week, that really wrecked her voice, necessitating the surgery. As a singer, I can tell you that it's not the high notes that'll hurt you; it's those low, loud ones.

  • je t'aime, Dame Julie.

  • @allieree It may be available on Amazon or e-bay. I have the soundtrack and video. Wouldn't take anything for either. This was the last thing she did before that botched surgery.

  • @opalasattic She called that "gear shift" as you said. Yes, she did lose some, but still she did well considering everything. She's the best!!!
