GREG HOGAN RANTS! - Episode #73, Greg Tells the tale of the long-lost piece of New York Americana, Storytown USA.
***ATTENTION*** I'm sorry to those who were not credited for their footage or stills. All footage was found on Youtube, and I hope you understand that it was to make this amazing documentary on such a historical park.
Many of the politically incorrect aka statues with dark skin are now up the road at Magic Forest.you can see them on the interminably long train ride.

I'm only 18 and I was young when they changed a lot of the stuff. I remember every year I went back all my favorite things slowly vanished and half the rides weren't running. It has become a corporate disaster of crappy generic rides, dilapitated ghost town (now used for storage) and now has a cookie cutter appearance minus the few original scraps left. It's a shame seeing how much I missed out on before my time.

6 Flags as ruined many of our wonderful family parks. Darian park did the right thing. They bought it back.

I agree that Storytown died a horrible death. My dad worked thru the Musicians Union up in Ghost Town from the 50s-70s. When they took out the stagecoach & burro rides for me that was the beginning of the end. My dad once saw a blue heron down in back of Jungleland. Do children even know our beloved Fairy Tales? Is there any imagination in todays children? Video games and movies just portrait mass killings. They call this progress!! I'm glad I didn't have kids...

Checkout Storybook Land in NJ. They have pieces of other fairy tale parks scattered throughout. I think you'll find some of Storytown's citizens hanging out there!

Thank you documenting this.
I grew up there, and I'm sad that it has been essentially ruined and won't be able to share it with my son the way it existed all those years.
The footage and still are awesome, as well as the rant.

I remember every inch of the original Storytown and thank you for doing this. 'Death' is certainly the most appropriate term for this most wonderful theme parks. (Remember, this was a time when the words 'theme park' meant focusing on the 'THEME'.)
