September 17, 2009. Sebastian is 12 and in the 7th grade and has been in piano lessons at Capital Music Center for five years now. He is performing "Davy Jones Plays His Organ" composed by Hans Zimmer for the Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Mans Chest. This particular arrangement is from the book "Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Mans Chest, Piano Solos" published by Hal Leonard. Sebastian is performing this piece on the Roland RM-700 Digital Entertainment Piano. Nothing is pre-recorded, it is all performed live. The concert bass drum is a layered sound in the left hand. You only hear it when he plays louder on certain notes. He is taking advantage of a feature called "USER PROGRAMS" that remembers exactly what sound you want to play. It's virtually unlimited how many presets (user programs) you can set for each song. He preset four registrations for instrumentation changes as he plays. Each new sound set is changed by depressing the left pedal. The screen is displaying the modern day "Piano Roll", ie. it's an interpretation of the notes he is playing live on the keyboard. Piano lessons at Capital Piano Center are FUN and you can learn songs that you REALLY want to play! Capital Piano Center 512-458-1933 www.capmusic.com 6101 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX 78757
