The incomparable Gracie Allen and Eleanor Powell in this show-stopping number from the hit 1939 MGM musical of the same name. The song captures the Magic and Romance of Hawaii's Golden Age. When getting there was truly half the fun. Alas, this song and musical have not fared well, and have been all-but-forgotten, except for the truest Kama'aina. Fortunately, the song and musical have receive a reprieve and rebirth lately after being used in such wonderful documentaries as "Waikiki-In the Wake of Dreams." Enjoy! Aloha & Mahalo! (& "Goodnight Gracie!)

I never saw Gracie in a film so young. No wonder George was always content and smiling. He had something to smile about!!! Carnation had contented cows and George was a contented hubby. Gracie so beautiful!!!!

Also, check out George and Gracie in Bob Hope's movie, "College Swing". Gracie at her best.

Perfection, as MGM usually was. What I always wonder is how Miss Powell went back and duplicated those tap sounds for the soundtrack!

Check out "International House," where she and George are even younger. So are W.C. Fields, Rose Marie, Bela Lugosi, and Cab Calloway! Quite a neat flick.

BTW, that's "Baby Rose Marie" and, yes, as in "The Dick Van Dyke Show."

Incidentally, can I say how rare it is at the end of a dance routine to see the actress or actor actually act tired and start fanning themself? Very natural.

Glad to see this clip. It's a lesser-known movie and, frankly, Leonard Maltin excoriates MGM's handling of Burns and Allen here.

This has got to be a highlight of the film...and reminiscent of B&A's turns with Fred Astaire in "Damsel in Distress."

This is the greatest thing I have ever seen. I adore Eleanor Powell; she is easily my favorite female dancer. But Gracie Allen is pretty much my favorite human of all-time. What a talent!
