Displacing the water is the best way to maintain constant gravitational pressure for water drops to form inside the collectors. It is crucial for the stream of water to break into a droplet at the same position every time! Finding that spot is the hard part ! I found just before the collector is good.

  • 8.00 min mark. proves that corona discharge doe's matter. Notice the spark stops when my face is close to the wires and or all conductors .When my face gets mystified with the water vapor sticking. I turned into a conductive surface area when close to the apparatus. My wet face has the intendency to attract the charge that builds up. interfering with the realm, I move away... and it resumes ! Too cool!!!!!

  • check out 7.40 man watch the water erect then ???.. loose interest.. too cool!! like never watch myself until now

  • hey i am 13 and i am doing a electrostatic water generator for my science fair and i don't know how to make it so can you or any one make a video of you building it you or any one else can show me at my myspace coryhicks1997@yahoo.com

  • @audrey666girl Sorry I did not notice your comment until now ! NO I can not take or even find the time to HELP But I can tell you this "It doe's not matter what kind of wire or conductor you use! Just make sure the distance between all conductors are far enough apart from each other to prevent corona discharging ..look it up! and RELATIVE HUMIDITY is a factor. As you know static electricity is more abundant in the winter than the moist summer days!! I hope this help you out!!!!!!! get A+...

  • It was clever of you to use the weight of the water in the receiving cans in order to press down a float in the reservoir, thereby maintaining a constant water level in the reservoir -- and hence a constant flow from the reservoir.

However, how about using a siphon to drain water from the upper reservoir? Then the water would always be descending from the same height (the highest point in the siphon) and the pressure / flow would be constant despite the water level in the reservoir.

  • @KevinByrne2 I tried that, then gave up ! but after the fact I realized the tube I used was too small of diameter causing restriction in the flow. I will try it again with a larger diameter siphon . I think your right though more practical!

  • Amazing... lightning right there !

  • we have no idea how the world works... atlantis is happening all over again

  • @TRTtherocketthing

    Great..nice presentation...

  • Would it work if you used like aquarium hose through the loops to create the charge? I know the water effect is cool, but I was thinking if one had two pvc pipes with constant water flow through them that one could also build up this charge...... Thanks for the video and the work you put into this.

  • @TRTtherocketthing thanks. O: that was my brother. and the science fair is way over. but thanks :D
