The 3.3 PvE Destruction Warlock Guide

This is my second guide in my series of warlock PvE guides. The video describes the basics of the heavy Destruction warlock spec. Enjoy :).

A general macro that will help your DPS is the imp firebolt macro. This ensure your imp will cast as soon as he is able (if you spam your buttons). This macro should be added to at least incinerate but could be added to all destruction spells.

Good people under hit cap, soul link is good for some damage reduction and reduced threat if your tanks are having problems.

Good strong DPS spec no managing of life tapping really needed if low on spirit consider taking glyph of immolate with this spec.

Some people are showing higher DPS in this spec if you favor your little imp buddy go for this one.

These are not the only ways you can distribute your last 5 points but some popular examples.

Some locks may wish to take Shadowfury, this has benefits in certain fights for example Sarufang to stun the adds or Anub'Arak heroic to interrupt shadowstep on the adds.

SF is really needed for deathbringer.

@Hejzwej SF is very useful in quite a few fights now. I take it in my build it's fun to use on trash as well :p. In bosses Sarufang it's invaluable stun adds as soon as they move from spawn point, LK when in Frostmourne use it to stun the add when it's channelling, Dreamwalker adds can be stunned in place this interrupts casts and on Deathwhisper it can help a little :).

For more optimal dps you should time conflagrate so that you don't have to cast eighter immolate nor chaos bolt during the "backdraft" duration. As they both have a lower cast time and therefore benefit less from the 30% haste. Also, keeping corruption up on the target will increase your total damage output :)

@rigel559 Corruption will only increase your dps if you are moving alot. Conflag should always be cast as soon as possible even if immolate has 0.1secs left as the damage buff it provides outweights the loss of a quick incinerate. Learn your immolate duration during backdraft and try to avoid clipping. I thought what you think now but I can't argue with lots of testing in raids :p.

@HolyShadow180 Well when I was picking my character having played other MMO's in the past I knew that I would be staring at this thing for many years to come. The idea of a musle bound hulk being what I looked at for hours at a time didn't appeal. I liked the idea of a cute looking female character that could summon demons and wield shadow and fire magics.

@Optec I was just confused, cause you said in an other video, that we should time the conf and CB, so refresh the immo,than cb and conf,for gaining the benefit of the backdraft. So should we forget that and using the CD-s ASAP?
