Sure there's rep that didn't go above a D. Skiffman studies with a well known operatic bass and has sung arias on youtube, so I assumed (maybe shouldn't) that he is interested in becoming a well-trained operatic bass. Even a heavy bass has roles that require an F and sometimes an F#. Jerome Hines had a good G that was recorded in performance and he was not a light bass or a bass-baritone. Maybe some freak of nature profundo doesn't sing over a D, but classical bass range is low E - F or F#.
@royjohnk There is rep written for any kind of bass voice. If he is training as a baritone, an F# would be acceptable, but there are more than enough songs written for a bass that never go above a D.
No room for a complete comment . . . these more recent vids are much better than the older ones, but still, lots of technical problems . . . no idea of how to negotiate the passaggio into the upper voice, anything over a middle C is too open and white in tone. The comment on the tension in the tongue also seems to be right. Erlkonig vid shows nice light singing, so there is head voice there to be used, but it isn't used in transitioning to upper voice. Keep studying, bass needs a good F#

You've come a long way since you recorded 'Impossible Dream'. This is actually quite good, bravo. I'm thumbing this one UP, not down :).
