Lady Sedgwick is magnificent. You want to get the back story on her. If you've read the book, you know that this actress nailed the character.

7:30 -- Hmm... "He loves me" but "I'll lose him" if I'm not the heiress to a fortune. A little confusion there.

In Miss Marple's "A Pocket Full of Rye" (1985), Lance Fortescue died in a car crash.

@HAZIDEAD When the Canon and men like him visited the hotel, someone would dress up like him and do a robbery. When he missed his flight and came back to the hotel early, his double had to get rid of him.

I like Christie's end better. Never liked those "sudden confessions" and "unexpected evidences" that had to be artificially added to convict the murderer.

@ceece7 more exciting and colorful. It was good to see Alistair Deacon though. He cleans up nicely.

Sorry, but I found the McEwan version
-
It isn't explained why the "Canon" was attacked and removed from the hotel.

Caroline Blakiston could certainly eat any man....Overwhelmingly beautiful too...What a woman!!
The McEwan version was ruthlessly rewritten and changed. And it was a dreadful piece of crap. The Hickson version is true to the original Christie novel. It is well written, well directed, and well acted. And it is much more exciting and colorful than the dreary McEwan version.

I love Caroline Blakiston as Bess Sedgwick!
One of my favorite Miss Marple films! Joan Hickson IS Miss Marple . . . .there will NEVER be another one!
