Top Thrill Dragster @ Cedar Point Stuck at Top, May 25, 2009

For the third time ever Top Thrill Dragster got stuck on the very top. Out of the over 5 million rides TTD has given the odds of it getting stuck are veeeerrrry slim. But the riders were in no danger being stuck at the top. There is a braking system on both sides of it waiting for them. But all is it took to get the thing down was three guys, that took an elevator up to the top, to push it. Afterwards all the passengers got debriefed from park officials and a medic.

I love that ride but i have a really stupid sounding question. Would it go if the people on the train worked together and threw all their weight to the front of the train?? I know its a really stupid question but can someone plz reply??

I would think that it would work but apparently not. I think that since the cars weigh so much that the passenger weight is fairly insignificant, I might be wrong though.

Every time it has gotten stuck it was on the 24th or 25th day of the month.

@NovaFT2 I think the weight does matter, since it seems to effect the "roll-backs". If a few light cars are launched, then a heavy car might not make it since the launch adjusted itself to the light cars.

@blackhart101 The daragster only stops when the emergency breaks kick in because of wind. Therefore, if all of the people used their weight, nothing would happen.
