thanks bro, i appreciate the help, ive been playing bass for a few months and love it... and im also happy to say that you've helped alot, personal lessons are really expensive

I think I understand the question, and the answer is No, you can play from the 6 of the pentatonic scale back down to the 1.
However if you are starting at the 1, the pattern is not necessarily the same going backwards....

@CORNP00 also, what about if you wanted a fretless bass? If you were to put your finger on the "dot" (which way not be there dependent on the bass) your note will be too flat, putting your finger on the fret is great practise for technical accuracy I myself have a Hudson left handed fretless bass, om nom, no lines, no dots, lovely ^^

@TheSmallfryWillKill Great perspective I never considered transition to fretless as a reason. thanks for sharing.

wats the reason to put your finger so close to the frets as opposed to puting your finger right in between 2 frets?
CORNP00 1 year ago
@CORNP00 I place the finger so close to the fret, to cut down on fret rattle, and for me it helps to not have to press down as hard.

@Torch7 Thats correct, that is how I learned it as well.
