@anniemur1 As a Greenfield lad myself, (ex Boarshurst 1970's) I hope they do, but don't count the old chickens just yet. It's not the easiest of pieces to pull off. Good luck though.

Why have the players and conductor ignored all of the senza vib markings throughout figure M to R

@brassbandadjudicator Yes you are correct. Certainly the solo cornet part is definately marked senza vib and that's how I played it. Maybe it's simply because it'a a recording and not on the actual contest stage that they ignored the markings, bit like the basses putting in the odd subtle pedal whereas they wouldn't on the stage.

Just been chosen as the 2011 National Finals of GB test piece for the 4th section.

@ff0667 ..And that my friend is exactly how I first came across this piece, chosen as the test piece for the nationals way back in the 1980's. It still ranks as one of my all time favourites, I love listening to it and love performing it. Good luck to you and your band.
