There's a reason Black Labs are one of the most popular dogs in the America.they are wonderful! And Oso definitely fits the bill of the best traits of a Lab! He is an absolute sweetheart! He may look hyper in his kennel at the shelter, but that is very typical for a dog stuck in a kennel for an extended time period. Once you get him out of the kennel for a few minutes, he is fantastic!

Oso was part of the Kids-N-K9s program which pairs juvenile offenders in the Williamson County Academy "boot camp" with homeless shelter dogs at the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter for a 4 week training program. The youth learn responsibility, patience, and perseverance while helping the dogs gain skills that will help them get adopted. Oso was definitely a star in his training class. He picked up on things very quickly and loves treats. He learned to sit, lay down, stay, come, and some fun tricks like spin. Oso walks nicely on a leash, too! He really wants to please and will happily work for food or praise and attention. Such a great dog!

Oso spent several nights in a foster home so we know how he is in a home environmentawesome! He can be a bit playful (he is a young Lab!), but most of the time, he is content to lay quietly at your feet or be a pillow behind your back on the couch. He loves attention but he is not pushy about getting it. Oso did not have any accidents in the house and he readily walked into his crate to get dinner and was quiet in his crate the whole night.

Osos video says that he would be best in a home without small kids because he can be bouncy, but he has matured a lot and would likely be a fantastic dog for a family with kids. He is very tolerant of being handled and would likely be very patient with kids. Oso would happy to have a house with a fenced yard but he would be fine in an apartment with regular walks because he is pretty much a snuggly couch potato in the house!

Oso quickly became a huge favorite in his foster home and all the staff in the K9 training class fell in love with him, too. He has the best personality, is so smart, and is super loving and loyal. He also still has some puppy in him so you will laugh at his occasional silly goofiness. In addition to having a great personality, check out the marking on his chestits in the shape of an angel! Oso is an angel and he is going to be a perfect dog for some lucky family!

Osos adoption fee is $25 and that includes shots, a microchip, a heartworm test, and he is already neutered.
