...Regardless of whether the ballpoint pen story is true or not, the "diary" is a fraud, just like the title of Sheppard's booklet says. While the book was probably based on the writings of Anna Frank, those writings were so heavily edited (and rewritten) by her father (not to mention publishers and translators) that the finished book is virtually unrecognizable from the original texts. Anna Frank's "diary" wasn't even a diary; she wrote it as a novel, mixing fact and fantasy...

But according to an article from the October 9, 1980 edition of the New York Post (reproduced in the back of Faurisson's booklet), technicians at the German Federal Criminal Investigation Bureau determined that portions of Anna Frank's fourth notebook had been written in ballpoint pen, and ballpoint pens apparently did not become available until 1951...

Actually I should clarify: There are two extremely clear, unbiased booklets on the subject: "Anna Frank's Novel: The Diary is a Fraud", by Simon Sheppard, and "Is the Diary of Anne Frank Genuine?", by Robert Faurisson.

According to Simon Sheppard, the ballpoint pen story isn't true, since according to the 1989 Critical Edition of the diary (which contains an analysis of the original manuscripts done by a team of forensic scientists), only two scraps of paper were done in ballpoint pen...

Anne Frank's 'diary' was scientifically proven to have been written in ball-point pen, which wasn't invented until the 50's. Unless she had a time machine, the diary is a COMPLETE fake.

This is not funny. It;s horrible because the joke is about someone who actually died in the Final Solution. If Sachsgate deserved 40,000 complaints, this deserved 100, 000.
