I attended Monterrey Tech back in the 60's for 3 summer sessions as part of my degree in Latin American Studies. This great city is being held hostage by the Zetas, who have turned this area into their private battleground for control of the drug trade. This can be reversed if only common sense prevails and we in the U.S. change our drug laws.

Well..... you can tell this wasn't made in 2011. Surely not the place to be anymore. So far this year, over 10 blockades have been set up at one time or another so Cartels could pass. And this is in Monterrey ?? !!! Mexico is sinking into the abyss. American tourism to Mexico on a path to cease by late 2012. Mexico is a beautiful country but it just isn't worth the risk anymore.

Too bad the narcos have taken over.
I love monterrey, i remember going there for first time about 5 years ago. i literally changed my life forever, its hard to explain how beautiful it is over there, Even the U.S. looks ugly compared to monterrey, its so rich with arts, music, and culture, its so full of life and the people are so nice.
I was born in California but my heart and soul belongs to monterrey, They are truly my kind of people :)
