Pavarotti is better tahn Corelli. Period.
And for his definite version of this aria listen to the complete Turandot recording with Mehta.
I am aware of the idolization of Corelli, well sorry , but I prefer bel canto to can belto and sliding.

@maxhansendk pavarotti has more technical talent than corelli, but corelli's performance of this song i agree is superior

Gosto de ver as apresentações de Pavarotti SOMENTE assim, em concertos; ele compensa a parte cênica no canto. Discordo de quem diz que ele não passa emoção/sentimento. A voz de Pavarotti é forte e suficiente pra interpretar esse papel (Calaf)... dentre outros.

@leadoffeohippus è vero, canta sul fiato, anche se è un po' fuori forma, e l'emissione è quasi sempre corretta (è a Modena!): si vede anche che, pur essendo un po' grasso, i muscoli del suo diaframma seguono la voce e si spostano in dentro quanto canta
