wasn't that more of a seoi otoshi rather than ippon seoi nage?
-
@EjenAmy This would work if you know you're fighting someone who uses Taiotoshi a lot. If you know its coming its a good counter

wow.. o__O'

even if there are better moves.. this one is still SICK!!!

kosoto gari wuld be the better option most of the time wen the oponent tries tai otoshi they go straight away on the ground as defense so if u sweep the leg as u jump over it wud be more effective however this culd work bt not very likely

jest moc. pozdrawiam

@dafushpu Nah, if you replay by pressing "4" you'll see the blur of tori's right arm coming under uke's sleeve arm.

it just looks nice... i dont THINK it will actually work. Did it ever worked for you on the competition???

HI EjenAmy, to do this in a competition is not easy especially when you have a very careful opponent but it will work in some situations which fullfill certain requirements. It depends on the style and experience of ur opponent and how you expect the attack from your opponent as well as how reckless(EQ) of your opponent is because a rush but imperfect full attack from opponent is crucial on this move.

The more power he used the more power u will borrow from him to enhance the success of this counter. Sadly, in my demonstration could not show much how the energy flow. You might say there are a lot more effective ways to counter.

I won't disagree but you would love to try again when u have experienced how effortlessly to counter by borrowing other's power as I am a just a tiny guy with not much power. It works on several back turning throws Taiotoshi, Harai Goshi...etc. Thank you for the comments : )
