A great old club, even Newcastle are too. But as bad as the mackems can be, at least they win the odd lower league trophy! Newcastle fans expect too much and are a middle of the road club aswell. Was great to see Stokoe run staright to monty at final whistle. He knew Monty had a big influence on the cup. Stay up Sunderland (I have €200 on it!!)

The Video commences with music from Elton John called "Funeral For A Friend". After the Porterfield goal it changes and the Guitar of Eric Clapton starts to play the well known Irish melody of "Oh Danny Boy". The words obviously re-written to suit a short history of Sunderland. The image that appears after the cup final is of the avatar of a Sunderland supporting friend who died prematurely of cancer not so long ago, about 1 year before the passing of Ian Porterfield himself.
