(sorry for two comments) Contrast Jim McCay with Howard Cosell. Cosell wrote a book "I Never Played the Game" and that is what you got with Howard: everything around the game, but no respect for the game itself. I was heartened to hear that McCay was a great - albeit diminutive - athlete, a tennis state champ no less, because in his reporting you could hear that he loved, as his mother put it, anything with a ball. When you love the playing of the game itself, it comes through.

great interview...fascination with Castro is only sour note...I can not understand the pass left-leaners accord this dictator who jails dissidents and disconnects families...great curveball? give me a break.

I miss McKay. These Olympics just aren't the same. I liked what ABC used to do with the interviews and backgrounds of each athlete.
