The poop is scooped into the waste container before the cleaning solution is injected in the litter. No poo water to worry about.

I did have a few issues with the original model, but nothing that Customer Service didn't help walk me through fixing or replacing. But since the upgraded model has come out, I haven't had even one problem! It's definitely worth the investment, and I can't tell you any cons, except size and having a space with electricity, water & drain. I have an older house, so it won't fit in my bathroom, but we're putting on an addition & we are building in a CatGenie "closet"!

We actually have 3 of them! You just need a "splitter" for the cold water & we used a Y shaped PVC pipe inserted into the laundry drain pipe for the drain lines.

I bought mine when the company first launched and I LOVE them. I would never go back. They are constantly making improvements that make the CatGenie better than it was before. DEFINITELY worth it - I'm actually thinking of getting a 3rd one soon.
