I get 36 MPG on the highway but only at 55 MPH. It's the best speed for mileage, on flat ground.

  • If you search YouTube for [Mythbusters drafting semi] then skip ahead to 3:26 and you can see Grant getting 32mpg, at 55mph in his V8 Magnum.

  • At the track, last year, I averaged 4.5 MPG, from the time I entered the facility, to when I left. I figure the more fuel I can burn in that 1/4 mile, the faster I will be. 100 shot ought to help there but I believe the fuel use is determined by the amount of air flowing past the MAF unit, not any kind of actual fuel consumption detector.

Hopefully I can get it down to around 3 1/2 MPG. At 4.5MPG, I am using 16x more fuel, than on the freeway.

  • After the nitrous install, enriching the air:fuel ratio and installing colder plugs and a gear swap, from 3.55s to 4.10s, my *average* MPG went from 23 all the way down to 18. Thank goodness I didn't buy this car for fuel economy.

  • What size rims/tires? 816 is crrrazy. with 18x9.5 and 285-40's w/ 4.10 rear gears i set mine to 760.

  • @rrtx2007 The snow tires are only 24.x inches tall. My summer Nittos 255/50-17 are taller but still at 775.

  • Did you guys accurately set the "revs per mile" for your gearing and tire size? I had mine set incorrectly and hit 30mpg on the computer, thought wtf lol and reset to the correct revolutions per mile/gearing. I'm around 19/23 now, which ain't bad considering I have full intake/exhaust. I'm thinking I'd probably get a few more with pulleys...

  • @rrtx2007 Yeah, I set mine via the GPS. My math says my snow tires should be 816 revs per mile but I set the tuner for 815 since it only goes in multiples of 5.

I got gears installed yesterday and... wow. Set the tuner to 4.10s and it was exactly the same as before. Also still matched the GPS dead on.

  • those readouts are usually higher than what you are actually getting

  • This is not BS. i have a 05 Mustang GT and on the freeway i get 35MPG this is with stock 17inch wheels, UDP's, 60,000 volt cop, AL,driveshaft, mac boomtubes, k&n CAI, Steeda TB spacer and the spare tire out. when driving 65mph. i cant drive 55!

  • SOB! I seriously need to CAI and tune my 06 GT. Best I have got is 19.1 so far :/ Just bought it 3 weeks ago with 37k miles on it.
