This is Happoken Shodan. It is the kata that one would need to master to attain first dan in Yoseikan Budo. It is being performed by Sensei Pierre Jackson of the Jushinkan Dojo in St-Hubert, Quebec.
You can find more on the Dojo's website.

  • is yoseikain budo a karate syle?

  • It's japanese and based on Aikido. Yoseikan is about thinking of energy as waves.

  • dont insult, we are all a family.

in my opinion the defect is the shock wave.

    sorry my english

  • Thanks. This is definitely something he worked on last time Hiroo Mochizuki was in Quebec, and that we worked on afterwards!

  • my sensey teached the happoken shodan' leg's movements different than this...every movement of the leg must be of 90°!!! anyway love yoseikan^^

  • Yoseikan Budo is not only a japanese martial art, Mochizuki used to learn all of them from his father but also took all the best things from chinese martial arts and other non-martial-arts sports like soccer, boxing... because in his point of view the intelligence of such sports can be usable for the combat.

  • this kata is god but the nidan kata isnt god from you

  • aikido and karate (and Judo)

  • Yoseikan budo is a kind of mix between many martial arts like aikido, karate, judo, ju-jitsu laido etc. Hiroo Mochizuki also practiced boxing and savate. It's based on the wave motion. Can someone explain me why you say it's based on aikido?

  • but the are kata so it's a karate style

  • Happiken Kata, a Traditional Kudaka Family kata of the Shorinjiryu Kenkokan School. This kata was shared via Kaiso Masayoshi Kori Hisataka (Japanese dialect) and subsequently adobted by Hanshi Mochizuki (i.e. sometimes offense is required over defense Aiki vs. Kiai). Demonstration search: Happiken Kata, Kyoshi John Marrione
