A cool feature of Google Maps is that it'll let you plot arbitrary lines. Another cool feature is that it'll export that line to Google Earth. And a cool feature of Google Earth is that it'll do a flyover tour of a route. Here's the route I took on my bike on 8-3-08, for about 26.2 miles.
How did you export that movie from Google Earth? I assume you are using the Pro version?

Unfortunately I didn't - it would be cool if you could. I basically had Google Earth play the flyover, while I had a screen movie capture program capture (SnapZ Pro X on the Mac) what was showing on the screen and save it as a movie.

how did you change the file type from kml or kmz

I didn't. I just ran through the animation in Google Earth and captured a screencast on my computer, using SnapzPro.
