Im definitely not MarloweDK, but i believe the answer to your question is after he hits the note, the thumb quickly and gently comes back down on the string to stop the sound, but not hard enough to create any extra noise. Other muting is done by doing the same thing with the right hand.
At least I think whats going on :P
