Cobra helps relieve stress and fatigue. It also stretches the upper spine, firms the buttocks, stimulates abdominal organs, and can be therapeutic for sciatica and asthma.
Do not practice this pose if you are pregnant or have a back injury. Check with your doctor before doing cobra if yo have carpal tunnel syndrome, high blood pressure, heart disease, or a history of stroke. If you have low back pain, be extra sure to tuck your tailbone and lift up only slightly.
