My Etsy store is NOW OPEN!!! Please visit at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/laurapoopie?ref=si_shop

This is New Moon themed birthday cake featuring the Volturi Crest. This cake was for one of my students who is a a Twilight saga fanatic! The cake is all chocolate butter cake with a vanilla buttercream icing. The vines were carved by hand using a Wilton tool and the leaves were made out of gumpaste and dried on flower forming tubes to give them the curved shape. The entire cake with the board was airbrushed using Americolor's gold sheen. The pearl border was piped with royal icing. I LOVE MY SPIKES! Hope you all like it! :)

  • I know you made this cake a long time ago but I was wondering how you glued the image onto the fondant. I had to buy a sugar sheet with an image copied onto it with a copying machine. If there is another way to get images onto fondant PLEASE tell me how.

BTW, I love that cake! The gold looks so pretty.

  • Thank you! Yes, you're right. A VERY long time ago. LOL! I've been debating whether or not to remove the video from youtube since it's hardly gotten any views... LOL! The image is glued with edible glue which is just a mixture of tylose powder and warm water. If you're gluing it on a flat tier, you don't even need anything. You can just lay it on top and it'll stick on its own.

  • @laurapoopie .......nooooooooooo don't delete it Laura! There are a lot of viewers out there who will sooner or later find this video and say..."this is what i was looking for!!" Just keep it here!! :o)

  • LOL! You're probably right! :) I'll leave it up! Thank you so much for the encouragement! I appreciate it! ;0)

  • how did u actually make the crest?

  • It's an edible imaged glued onto a gumpaste plaque. :)

  • I airbrushed it with edible airbrush paint. :)

  • wer can you buy the gold fondant? or how did u make it??

  • Thanks for your infos..

  • Hi Raphael, Thank you! I use a very old cheap air brush my Dad gave me. He just had it sitting in his shop. Don't even know the brand. The airbrush color on this cake is Americolor, gold sheen that is. No need to dissolve. Straight from the bottle. :) Glad you liked it! :)
