The movement to draft Gore for President continues to gain momentum!
Funded entirely by contributions from grassroots supporters, this 30-second spot features clips from speeches in which Gore takes an early stand against the war in Iraq and exhorts Americans to take back their government and restore Constitutional authority. "I believe our success in defending ourselves depends precisely on not giving up what we stand for," Gore says in one of the clips.

This will run for five days on CNN news shows beginning Nov. 2 and for three days on New Hampshire's WMUR station. "Imagine a renewed world," the ad urges Americans. "Imagine an end to the war in Iraq. Imagine Al Gore as President." The ad concludes with an appeal to supporters to sign the petition at Draftgore.com.

"Al Gore still has time to jump into this race," said Draft Gore chair Monica Friedlander. "He maintains a massive base of support, as evidenced by recent polls and the unprecedented strength of this truly grassroots movement that's sweeping the country unlike anything we have seen in recent political history."

A CBS News poll released last week shows the undeclared Gore running a strong second at 32 percent among Democratic voters nationwide, only five points behind presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton. Moreover, Gore polls much better than Clinton against Republican frontrunner Rudy Giuliani, 52 percent to 46 percent, compared to Clinton's 49 to 47 percent, according to a poll released by CNN on Oct. 21.

Draft Gore's online petition has garnered nearly a quarter-million signatures over the past year, despite having received little publicity until recent weeks. The petition more than doubled in size since July. Draft Gore also ran a series of radio ads in targeted areas between June and October.

"Americans are calling Gore back to service at a time of grave national and international crises," Friedlander said. "Draft Gore is merely giving a voice to this demand."

Draft Gore is a political action committee promoting a Gore candidacy in 2008. The PAC is not affiliated with Vice President Gore's office. For more information, see http://www.draftgore.com/.

  • I'd canvas the state, put up signs, phone bank. I'd do everything humanly possible if Gore changes his mind. Sadly I don't think he will, even though he is badly needed.

It doesn't make you a dissident to question "GOP" True courage means lookign at the individual and having the prophetic wisdom to look beyond ones party affiliation. NEWLY REGISTERED REP.
