@R11thNov2011 John Lennon said that "Here, There and Everywhere" was his favorite song by Paul. "Eleanor Rigby" is genius. "For No One" is a piece of melodic brilliance. Paul's lead guitar solo on "Taxman" absolutely sizzles! "Got To Get You Into My Life" is about weed. Does it get any better that that? So, what the hell are you referring to?

@AKnightforGod How, on earth, would there have beeen any present without history, it´s like saying God made everything 4kitsch years allowing no discussion. @AKnightforGod I think you are mistakenly blurring the line between two distinct things: "rock" and "rock and roll." Elvis was rather important in making music more of a pop culture phenomenon. Little Richard helped develop many musical ideas. The point is that all music that happened before this actually contributed to the Beatles' sound, and to deny these artists any musical credit is to be ignorant.

Finally, The Beatles are a rock band, most bands that came before are rock and roll.
