Assembly Candidate Ferial Masry answers questions 1. She mentions how she is inspired by House Speaker Tip ONeil. She says he knew how to work with both the Democrats and the Republicans. Her top priority is to fix education. Infrastructure and green jobs are also something she wants to work on. She does not support charter schools. Her opponent is Jeff Gorrell. The seat she is running for is now an open seat since Audra Strickland will be terming out. She advocates that to solve ongoing budget problems we must have better savings in boom times so it will be available during bust times. There needs to be money for rainy days.
She's a smart and interesting woman running for the same Assembly seat for the fourth time. Even though the seat is open since Audra Strickland is termed out, this is a futile effort. The district is already Republican-leaning and this a a Republican-leaning year. Too bad; she would make a nice addition to the Assembly.
