  • I think it's one of the 10 best jazz albums of all time. 'It was made in one afternoon in a small empty theatre in Los Angeles' ''Largely an accident...The head arrangements were done on the spot by Lews, who acted as overseer for the date' If you listen to the album one tune after the other beginning with Love Me or Leave Me, 2 Degrees East, 3 West, Skylark Almost Like Being in Love' all the individual solos one after the other sound as if they were all composed B4 hand so perfect they R.

  • Thanks again for the comment, adeduction-san!!

This album was a grand encounter by John Lewis and other musicians certainly.

  • Hey, great taste! Another masterpiece album. All these new great posts on youtube is blowing my mind. I wrote out every note of this Easy Living version by Perkins for my flute years ago and couple years ago transposed it for my trumpet ... I can't get that masterful relaxed so easy sound the great Perkins maintained throughout. Great post.

  • Thank you, trumpsahead-san!!

  • You are welcome, Otaku3, but I regret that you copied my typographical error. The first two words should read "Two Degrees . . ." [etc.] I did a little research in my own library and discovered that the shortened album title was used for a Liberty Records release when the Pacific Jazz catalog passed through different corporate hands sometime during the 1960s. Keep on posting. The cut "Almost Like Being in Love" was a popular play-choice on the old KJAZ-FM radio station here in California.

  • Thank you, 88esquire-san!!

I corrected the title of this album according to your opinion.
