The Crime Story series brought him new respect when Runaway was used as the theme for the series, with Del singing new lyrics. They did a 'tip of the hat' tribute to him in the show when he died...

Supposedly Del was tired of being known as Del "Runaway" Shannon. He also wrote some good songs for other artists, "I Go to Pieces" being one of them. He is approx. 53 years old in this vid and still sounding good!

@TheNewPartyMovement I read somewhere that he was depressed because of the change of music. Makes sense, the new music depresses me to the extent of blocking my ears & looking for a rope hanging from a tree, lol.
