gopher snake?

climbed under son in laws truck used a garden hose to remove it, Id say gopher snake but not sure, he was hit by a car, released him hope he makes it.. a very cool snake.any input on ID of this snake appreciated.

yup im with ya on fox snake, def not black rat, or at least around here blacks heads are more rounded. weve caught /released more differennt snakes this year than ive ever seen, and we had a hard winter, go figure.

do you understand your victims? if you kill it because you don't understand it or because ur afraid (what's the difference?) your not doing anything particularly helpful to the world. research them and maybe get to know a real live one, then judge and you tell me if you'd still kill it.

@jeepfreek88 You're absolutely correct! And by the way, what a beautiful snake. I live on the coast in California and mostly we have rattlers - spectacular snakes in their own right but damn , the midwest and south seem to have all the cool snakes. I just want to reiterate what you said - Leave the rattlers alone. They want nothing more than to get away from humans. In fact, in California, it's against the law to capture or harm a rattlesnake.

RAT SNAKE......... All you people who kill snakes including rattle snakes are fools snakes will not harm you unless you threaten them....so do yourself a favor if your not a snake lover, just walk away and the snake will go on with its business...To all my fellow snake lovers catch and realese.....unless you find a tiny baby and can't part with it............

its a really dull corn snake or rat snake both are smae thing just corn snake is also known as a red rat snake
