by the way, i love the clarity--especially of the audio...you can really hear the synthesizers in the "citypulse" theme, or even the little details in the "citypulse" open like the chopper and the sound of paper being torn off the printers in the newsroom...sure came off a well-maintained tape if you ask me! :)

It is a shame that Laura was let go. I hope she bounces back quickly, she's a great news anchor. Seeing this clip is funny - I forgot what the 'old' City Pulse News room was like!

@OTownNews I wonder if that was an actual full time news chopper, or if Citytv just rented one and stuck a logo on it for the sake of promo shots. The latter was what CIVT in Vancouver did in the late 90s before they got Chopper 9 in 2004.

But that was Citytv in its prime - daring to be different. Not the Citytv we know now.

wow...great find, as always! slowly, the video history of "citypulse" (both for the 6:00 and 11:00 shows) is coming together on youtube...:P
gotta love the intro music (synthesizers all over? really, really reminiscent of the '90s)...and the HUGE font coming out of the chyron/inscriber/character generator or whatever you wanna call it for laura di battista's name on the screen. :p

The CityTV station here in Edmonton doesn't have a newscast anymore. Unless you count Breakfast Television, which is really, really bad.
