@halow1alone If you followed the thread, you'd see that I know they have a mother. But EVA's only Solid and Liquid's surrogate, she's not genetically related to either of them. Snake and Liquid have no mother to genetically inherit traits from, any differences between them are the result of either pre-natal genetic modification or environmental diferences because they come from the same parent and are identical in the sense that they come from the same egg.

@MrLunitunz they have a mother bro, in MGS4 EVA explains to snake, your clones of big boss, perhaps, no single man can come to the world without a mother's help,
Snake: so, your my mother?
EVA: yes, and no, im the one that gave you birth
snake: so, like, an adoptive mother?
EVA: if you say it like that, it sounds rude, but yes, they needed someone that gave you birth and to your brothers, and it was me.

that was the last time she ever looked at herself in the mirror, or at least in my case, as i saved otacon instead of her... which i dont regret at all.

@EternalSage07 EVA's their surrogate mother. But they don't have a mother in the genetic sense.
Snake, despite all his claims that he has no family in MGS1, by the end of the series he's shown to have a 'family', a mother, a father and two brothers. Granted the only one who didn't try to kill him was EVA, and the only one he didn't kill was Solidus, but it's still a family.
As for looking alike, Solid and Liquid don't have identical genetic patterns, but their genes only come from one person

@MrLunitunz Actually, they do have a mother of sorts as shown in Metal Gear Solid 3 and its sequel, Peacewalker and of course Metal Gear Solid 4. EVA (AKA Big Mama ) was a surrogate mother to both Solid and Liquid Snake. Living creatures cannot just spring up out of nowhere, they need a womb or at least an artificial incubator to act as one in order to be conceived and ultimately born. Also, them being twins does not make them identical. They're most likely what we'd call fraternal twins.
