@Alcohollicaa Drug addiction a disease huh? that always cracks me up. Anyway, Phil used drugs to escape his chronic back pain and I can totally relate. Without pain meds I would be up shit creek but I will never go to hard drugs because it can affect your judgement too much like it did to Phil. Anyway, Pantera ruled!!

I believe he was possessed, he was heavy into the occult. During some performances you can see him with this crazy look in his eyes. If you check out superjoint when they played fort worth texas you can see what I'm talking about. Just my opinion.

No, Vinnie Paul was the reason Pantera broke up. Him and Dimebag cracked the sads because Phil and Rex went off to do side projects, and because the Abbotts had everything handed to them their whole lives, they couldn't handle the fact that Phil wanted to do something other than cookie cutter fad metal.

Alcohollicaa is so right. The drug can turn anyone into a demon, especially, if everybody is expecting that you get rid of your addiction quickly.....there for sure was a lot of pressure on everybody, the show had to go on, there were contracts to be fulfilled, bills to be paid, etc....pressure on the job and back pain get along like a house on fire....

well when I saw pantera live in 2001 in Adelaide, Australia they were awsome & phil was awsome & looking back on it, it was the best metal show ive seen in my whole life & the last pantera album was as good as all of them, remember every album was different in its own way & I think that if they did another album it would have been amazing in my opinion.
